Make a Date to Dance

In celebration of the 1st anniversary of the Tea Dance at Central Library, specially commissioned dance cards have been made to make this an extra special occasion! Based on an original from the Winter Gardens in 1895, the dance card has a list of dances which will be ‘called’ (and learnt if you don’t already know them!), with space to note down your partners name as well!

Join us on the 1st November, 1.00pm – 2.30pm at Central Library to learn and join in a number of old classics and a few new favourites! This event is free of charge, with refreshments just £1.

The Tea Dance runs fortnightly on Thursdays, 1.00pm – 2.30pm and is free of charge (refreshments £1). This Tea Dance is one with a twist…the dances are broken down and taught by local dance artist Kat Irving, so you can keep practicing your favourites or learn new dances  each week. The sessions are open to anyone, whether you’ve danced all you life or want to try something new. Come along and give it a try during this year’s festival!
