A small sample of your informative and interesting diaries

‘After breakfast, me, my mum, dad and little sister Sophie aged 3 1/2 drove to Moore Park library. My mum went to work at the library for the day. Next we dropped my sister off at Blackpool A-Zoo nursery. Me and my dad drove to the Sandcastle Water World. The first slide I went on was ‘Aztec Falls’ then ‘Montazooma’ and the ‘master blaste

r’. I went on these slides three times. We went on the sidewinder next and then had dinner. Later we went round the rapids and in the wave pool. Finally we went home and answered the front door to lots of trick or treaters as it was Halloween. I dressed as a skeleton and Sophie was a witch.’

‘Morning opened all of forty birthday cards – Phone calls from members of my family (Larger than the Waltons) Younger brother all of 83 called from Sheffield I was out ‘jollying’ as he said – love him to bits one of my favourite people. He was right out for lunch with fellow Councillor Son (Poulton Wyre the posh area) also daughter-in-law (Only a pub lunch which turned into surgery for people needing help also reminiscing with others in there enjoyed a lovely reasonable priced lunch) – 5pm not one but two birthday cakes from local shops both delicious – nearly full compliment of family – daughter – three children I brought up after sister died – (two-seven-eight) now in their forties – their offspring – grandchildren – also GREAT grandchildren – newly to be adopted great grandson (lovely bless him) it was lovely also joined by dear friend Councillor Joyce Delves – All this possible because the sainted Jane (Jane Kirkham) managed to re-arrange my day – you may have had more exciting days but not more enjoyable (Although if I am truthful do not like being old when so much still to do and see)’

‘I rose at 7am to a rather dull and cloudy day. Had breakfast while watching BBC News until 8am. Prepared to go to town to pay bills and have a coffee. Had lunch later and did nothing this afternoon except read the Daily Express and listened to some music (“Hot Chocolate”). Had an early dinner, so that I made the 6.30pm performance to see James Bond in “Skyfall” at The Ocean. Returned from film at 9.45pm then watched ‘Emmerdale’ recorded earlier and had a further read and listened to Classic FM until 11pm. And in the words of Samuel Pepys and so to bed’
