‘Up for Arts’ at BBC Radio Lancashire kicks off with creative writing – ‘Wordplay Workshops’.
They’ll run for 6 weeks on Monday afternoons from 2.30 -4pm starting Monday 11th Feb. The dates are Feb 11th /18th /25th /March 4th /11th/18th.
The sessions are FREE and will be held in our radio theatre at BBC Radio Lancashire here in Blackburn.
They’ll be run by a number of different authors and writers from Lancashire, including Colne-based author Richard McSween and Blackpool’s ‘Dead Good Poets’ creative writing group.
We’ll include short stories, poetry and maybe script writing for plays, but the key thing is they’ll be accessible for people who just want to have a go, try their hand at a few writing styles, with the course leaders help to guide them.
It’ll be very much a ‘taster’ for beginners, for people who are starting to write or thinking about it but don’t know how to get going…it’s not really for experienced or published writers.
We have a maximum number of 16 people per session, and so far 9 people are signed up, as a result of the on-air promotional trails we’ve been running since last week.
· If you know of anyone who’d be interested in coming along, they could sign up by calling our Help Desk on 0345 305 9000…if they’re quick!
