Hello! We, Bonker*s Clutterbucks are a husband (Peter) and wife (Kate) team who enjoys making 3D models, kits and diorama box pieces, up-cycling found objects and celebrating all things nonsense! We are very happy to have been asked to work with a couple of groups Back on Track and U Create exploring the theme Small Worlds through 3D models and dioramas over the course of the next ten weeks. Some of our balloon model prototypes can be seen on our blog http://bonkersclutterbucks.com/prototypes/balloon-race/
Yesterday we spent a wonderfully sunny morning at Central Library where we met our lovely Back on Track group. We showed examples of pieces we’ve made and Peter talked a little about Gulliver”s Travels, Alice and Wonderland, the Borrowers and ideas of scale and inventive up-cycling. Over the next few weeks we’d like to think about possible modes of transport that might be used in small worlds, small homes and small characters/inhabitants.
The group chose various papier mâché blanks to work with, some painted birds and carriages to go on their backs, others began to construct hot air balloons and a papier mâché pod with spiral staircase. Everyone rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in. There were some great ideas, everyone became absorbed by the process and some beautiful work was produced. We can’t wait to see how things progress as the weeks go on.
