Deborah Morgan talks about her debut novel, Disappearing Home and getting published

Palatine Library, Thurs July 4th 7.30-9pm

Deborah Morgan lives in Liverpool. Before taking up writing, she worked as a chambermaid, a bingo caller, a dressmaker and a primary school teacher. Disappearing Home is Deborah’s first book and was written at the instigation of legendary film-maker Terence Davies. She is an enthusiastic and entertaining speaker and will talk about writing a first novel, and the ups and downs of getting a book published.
‘Robyn is a tenderly realised protagonist in a position of extreme victimhood, which she never finds the strength to challenge. And while the plot is misery lit, the book is shot through with gorgeous images and subtle humour’. Observer Book Review
